چکیده

Spinal cord injury (SCI), in addition to motor and sensory problems, may also lead autonomic dysfunction. Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is one of them has often been reported traumatic brain injuries, multiple sclerosis, other spinal pathologies. However, there not much data on POTS SCI even extensive databases. We present a case an adolescent female with paraplegia due SCI. During her tilt table training, she started having episodes sinus associated fatigue, dizziness, headache, palpitations, presyncope no hypotension, after achieving 60 degrees head tilt. After ruling out the common causes syncope, diagnosis was established. With pharmacologic non-pharmacological measures, including metoprolol, increased fluid intake, compression stockings, symptoms resolved, able continue rehabilitation.

Peptides in Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome

Recently, increasing attention has been directed toward better understanding the physiological role and clinical importance of a wide range of endogenously released vasoactive peptides. The most well known of these are B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) (1–4). However, others have also attracted attention, including C-type natriuretic peptide, vasoactive intes...
